In the early hours of 15th July a polish duo of mountaineers endeavoured to set a new route on broadpeak mountain situated next to k2 in Pakistan. The climbers were taking on the northwest ridge which is a very difficult unclimbed section on broadpeak. Approx at 3am one of the climbers urgently arrived into our k2 Maddison Mountainerring basecamp in a frantic state requesting immediate help as his climb partner had got badly injured with rock fall from above and lay on the mountain in desperate need of rescue. The Maddison Mountainerring team we’re ready at hand and two key Sherpa members Tashi & Lakpa Dendi Sherpa sprang into action along with luckily a climb doctor from another expedition… the rescue was challenging in its location and the injury’s needed immediate attention on site .. these short clips show you the Challenges of remote high altitude location operations & recovery’s.
As high altitude mountaineers we recognise the true strength, skill and commitment Sherpa power has in the mountains.
The content attached is real & Graphic and the mountaineer involved was safely rescued and in time will make a full recovery..
