    Hi Jason,
My name is Evin Devenney. I’m 24, from St. Johnston and teach in Deele College in Raphoe. I am writing to you because I have decided to climb Mt Kilimanjaro this July to raise money for the Donegal Cancer Bus and Cancer Care West. I’m paying for the expedition myself (it’s with Earth’s Edge company) so that all the money raised will go directly towards the two charities.

I remember you did a talk in Deele College about 2/3 years ago and talked about your motivation and inspiration for climbing. I was just wondering if you have any advice on how to fundraise or any tips on the type of training I could do? The school is great in supporting me and it’s a long way until July but I’m trying to get as much information as I can.

I have a few events in mind to raise the money. I have an Easter raffle organised and I’ve managed to book a coffee morning event next week. My target is €3,000 but to be honest, I will be happy with whatever amount I manage to raise. I might look to businesses for sponsorship too, but I haven’t planned anything just yet.

I would greatly appreciate any advice or support you could give me. Other than Croagh Patrick, this will be my first climbing experience, so I need all the help I can get!

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Many Thanks,
    Evin Devenney
